Zoo plays a vital role in Education, recreation & Conservation.
People have different opinions about Zoo, some think that animals should not be kept in cages by Human and on the other hand when they think if animals go extinct and that’s the way it should be to kept and preserve animals.
In Oman we have the Only Zoo – with given name Noman Park, and it is located in Barka.
It was Established by Mr. Ahmed Al Balushi , since his childhood he is having love for animals and this love gave him the idea of Zoo.
He was saving from his pocket money to buy animals to give his idea of Zoo , a reality. He started by Buying a Donkey and then bought a small farm and was keeping animals there and day by day this farm was becoming famous and people around it started visiting it to see the animals. Later on transformed it into a park for Animals and then further later on converted it as a Family entertainment Park – Zoo with the facilities of games, entertainment, Restaurants & swimming Pool etc.
His Dream came True and the Park inaugurated on 18th Nov 2010 – on Oman’s National Day.
It’s not a Big Zoo , like there are in other countries but as a Park Cum Zoo is an appreciate able step taken by an Individual.
This Zoo have now 200+ kind of animals Including a Tiger and a Lion.
